We also recommend that while a technician is on-site we carry out a Microwave Leakage and Safety Test. This ensures that the levels of radiation emitted from your microwave oven are within the recommended limits.

Microwave ovens provide a convenient and safe way of cooking food in the workplace, however, faults can occur, and unless periodically tested they may become a health and safety hazard without you being aware.

Frequent use can lead to the door seals failing this can lead to leakage levels in excess of the recommended limit.

Testing of this equipment involves measuring the levels of radiation around the oven using microwave detection equipment to ensure compliance with legal limits. Also inspected are the door, lock, and door seals for any signs of damage to ensure that they function correctly and safely.

On completion and passing of this inspection a sticker, we will attach to the microwave to show it complies with the following standards:

BS EN 60335-2-90 2006 Safety of Household Electrical Appliances

BS EN 60335-2-25 2002 Requirements for Microwave Ovens
